Yep, you read that correctly 😎😎 Formula One’s Golden Boy Oscar Piastri secured his first race victory in Hungary yesterday‼️This victory came after an awkward back-and-forth between him and his teammate, Lando Norris, who eventually followed team orders and let Oscar back into the lead to take his maiden win. Oscar has been on fire this year helping to capitulate McClaren to second place in the constructor’s championship with him being fifth in the drivers championship.

Lewis Hamilton, who got third in the race, secured an impressive 200th podium after dueling with Max Verstappen for third place throughout the entire race. McClaren and Mercedes have been on fire in the mid-season as they set their sights on Red Bull for first place in the constructors championship. This year’s season of Formula One is certainly looking like it will be one of the best and I can not wait for the action after the summer break.

Chrysler Recalls 24,000 Hybrid Minivans, Urging Owners to “Park Outside”

Soccer Moms Beware‼️Your innocent-looking Pacifica plug-in hybrid may turn into a burning ball of fire if you are not careful 🔥🔥Chrysler is recalling 24,000 Pacifica plug-in hybrid vehicles due to an issue with their battery packs. In a statement, Chrysler wrote the issue was caused by a rare abnormality in the battery pack of the car. Chrysler has advised owners of the car to park outside and to stop charging them to prevent a fire from breaking out.

So far, Chrysler and its parent company Stellantis have reported 7 incidents. Some occurred while the vehicles were turned off while others occurred while the vehicles were charging. Four people have reportedly suffered injuries as a result of smoke inhalation. If you or anyone you know owns an affected Pacifica hybrid from the model years 2017 to 2021, please contact your local dealer and follow Chrysler’s advice on how to prevent an incident from occurring.

Fisker Offering Fire Sale On Remaining Ocean SUVs

Credit: Fisker

Fisker, the troubled EV maker who is the king of funky styling, has agreed to sell the remaining stock of its Ocean SUVs to the New York-based leasing firm American Lease as part of its bankruptcy proceedings. The SUVs will be sold for an insane $16,500 on the top end to $2500 for damaged vehicles. This is an immense discount considering how a brand new Fisker Ocean SUV typically sees an MSRP of around $70,000. Fisker discounted the Ocean SUVs in March by as much as $24,000 in an attempt to avoid bankruptcy but they were unable to do so.

American Lease plans to rent its newly acquired fleet of Ocean SUVs to rideshare drivers and will be purchasing 3,231 vehicles. Fisker certainly wants nothing to do with the vehicles as they will come with no warranty and Fisker will have no obligation to service them. They also will not be required to update the vehicles past the 2.1 version of their software. However, they will be handing over all of the source code and development data to American Lease in a very odd move.

Next-Generation Ford Super Duty To Offer A Hybrid Powertrain

Ford’s next generation of Super Duty Pickup will reportedly feature some hybrid powertrain. Ford officially announced last Thursday that the new generation will take advantage of “multi-energy technology” which is corporate jargon for a hybrid setup. The current generation Ford F-150 makes use of a hybrid setup pairing an electric motor with a twin-turbo V6 engine.

A fully electric version of the super duty is not expected to be in the works for the next generation and electric trucks are not as capable as their gas counterparts at the moment. This is mainly due to their poor range, especially when towing or hauling goods, making it challenging for buyers to use them in rural areas without chargers. Regardless, Ford is committed to offering electric vehicles in their lineup, especially for their F-Series lineup of trucks.

Cadillac Walking Back 2030 All-EV Goal

Credit: Cadillac

In 2021, Cadillac set an ambitious goal for itself to be fully electric by the year 2030. Now, three years later, they are starting to walk back on this goal. Cadillac has joined other manufacturers like Mercedes and Audi from across the pond in walking back this goal. Cadillac is planning on slowly phasing in EVs and wants to give consumers a choice in the type of vehicle they drive.

This occurrence comes as consumers across the country have been not jumping to the EV ship as quickly as expected. This is due to many things such as a chaotic charging network and consumers not wanting to give up what they know. With some states mandating all new vehicles to be electric in 2035, and a new charging port standard coming by then, the deadline for full EV adoption is much more realistic in the decades to come rather than in five years.
