Ferrari’s First EV to Debut Next Year

Credit: Ferrari

According to a report published by Autocar, Ferrari is set to follow the trends and release its first battery electric car in late 2025 with the car making its way into the hands of customers in 2026. Benedetto Vigna, the head honcho at Ferrari confirmed this news to Autocar. He went further saying Ferrari already has several prototypes on the road which have racked up several thousand kilometers.

Since EVs, regardless of the manufacturer all have a similar feeling, Ferrari is working hard to make their EVs feel different and in a way that is distinct ā€œFerrariā€. After all, with a price tag of at least $500k, you would certainly expect this upcoming prancing horse to be one hell of a car. Ferrari will be building this upcoming model at their sprawling E-building located just north of its Maranello home. This facility features cutting-edge technology which will help Ferrari with the design stage.

Ferrari has been an innovator in the realm of electric sports cars for some time such as through the introduction of the hybrid LaFerrari hypercar in 2013 and the plug-in-hybrid SF90 Stradale (pictured above) in 2019. Regardless, I do hope Ferrari can continue making gasoline engines in line with their heritage as there is a certain feeling EVs are unable to capture that only a gas car can.

BMW 6 Series Rumoured to Replace Current-Gen 8 Series

Credit: BMW

BMW may be considering reviving the 6 series (pictured above) to replace the 8 series in their lineup in 2026 per a report published by Automotive News. The same report goes on to suggest BMW will kill off its newly introduced XM sports performance SUV in 2028 once the current generation ends its lifecycle.

The 6 series left the United States in 2019 leaving a gap in their lineup between the 5 and 7 series. The 8 series was significantly more expensive than the 6 series starting at over $110,000. A new generation 6 series would be built on the automaker’s CLAR platform which can accommodate gas, hybrid, and fully electric power trains. It is worth noting BMW has denied this report and others in the auto industry close to BMW have thrown cold water on the validity of the report.

Cybertruck Dethrones F-150 Lightning as Topselling EV Pickup

Credit: Tesla

It’s official! Despite accelerating uncontrollably and slashing the owner’s limbs, the Cybertruck is officially the best-selling electric pickup truck in America ā€¼ļøIt outsold Ford’s F-150 Lightning last month based on new vehicle registrations. While some may be surprised given how unique the Cybertruck is, I certainly am not.

Ford has had issues with the F-150 lightning which has caused it to shut down one of two production lines in April of this year. One of the main reasons is the lack of demand as its subpar range, especially when towing or hauling, has caused many would-be Lightning buyers to stay clear. Although the Cybertruck gets less range than its other gas counterparts, it still outperforms the Lightning. Since electric pickup truck buyers want to choose the most capable truck, I am sure many are picking the Cybertruck over the Lightning. With the Cybertruck serving as the latest trendy car, it is sure to boost its sales in the coming months.

Hyandai’s First Electric Three-Row SUV Will Debut This Year

Credit: Hyundai

Hyundai is rumored to be announcing its first three-role electric SUV later this year. This comes after the company teased its Ioniq 7 (shown above) concept in the city of Angels a couple of years ago. Unlike many concept cars, we thankfully know a little bit of what the production car will look like. This is because the car will be built on the E-GMP platform which is used to build the KIA EV-9. Therefore, it is safe to assume it will make around 379 horsepower with a roughly 99.8 kWh battery pack.

What remains to be known is how much the production car will look like its concept. The sloping lines in the concept are certainly a departure from Hyandai’s boxy design language in recent years. We are also unsure of what the car will be named. Will it be the Ioniq 7? The Ioniq 9?? Or something else???? Who knows šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Honda Teases 2026 Passport Trailsport

Credit: Honda

The Passport, Honda’s Midsized SUV, is currently seeing a plastic surgeon as Honda prepares to debut a new generation of the Passport in 2026. Honda refreshed the Passport for the 2024 model year as well as updated the Trail Sport, its offroad version, even more capable. Honda promises to make this new Passport Trailsport even more capable than the current generation.

The new Trailsport borrows design inspiration from offroaders such as the F-150 Raptor and the TRD Pro Tacoma with its amber daytime running lights. Personally, I think these make the Trailsport look sick. It also includes ā€œPassportā€ stamped across its grill much like the Raptor. This redesign is a smart move for Honda as off-roaders and unique cars have become extremely popular in recent years.
